(Order Cumacea):
One of six segments (somites) of abdomen (pleon). Cylindrical, anterior pleonites occasionally bearing appendages (pleopods). Posterior pleonite bears uropods and may be fused to telson to form pleotelson [Stachowitsch, 1992].
(Order Isopoda):
A segment of the pleon (=pleomere) [Wetzer et al. 1997].
(Order Isopoda):
One of basically six segments of pleon. Appendages of pleonite are termed pleopods; often considerably narrower than pereonites. Last (= sixth) pleonite typically fused to telson to form pleotelson. (Syn. pleomere) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
