A description of a kind of body shape. Female body types are usually described by the fashion industry as pear shaped, small shouldered and wide through the hip area; wedge shaped, with broad shoulders and small hips; oval shaped, wide through the middle; hourglass shaped, as small-waisted and curvy; and column shaped, in which the shoulders, waist, and hips are of the same width.
