Kondrat
Kondrat m
Polish form of CONRAD (SEE Conrad), but there has been considerable confusion between this and the Russian name Kondrati, which is officially derived from the Late Greek name Kodratos, from the Latin byname Quadrātus, meaning ‘square’, i.e. squat, portly. This was borne by various early saints venerated in the Eastern Church, most notably by the writer of the first apologia for Christianity, addressed to the Emperor Hadrian, and by the leader of a group of forty-three martyrs executed in Anatolia under the Emperor Decius.
