Armelle
Armelle f
French (of Breton origin): feminine form of the rarer male name Armel, originally borne by a Breton saint of the 6th century who founded the abbeys of St-Armel-des-Bascheaux and Plouërmel which still bear his name. According to medieval sources, he was born in Wales and was a cousin of St Samson. His name seems to be composed of the Celtic elements art stone + mael prince, chief.
