Lynn f
English: apparently a modern short form of LINDA (SEE Linda) with the spelling arbitrarily altered. There may also be some connection with the French name Line, which originated as a short form of various female names ending in this syllable, notably CAROLINE (SEE Caroline). The element -lyn(n) has also been used as a productive suffix in female names since around the middle of the 20th century.
