Ibn Tibbon, Samuel ben Judah (Tibbon)
(c.1150-C.1230)
   French translator, scholar and physician. After travelling widely, he settled in Marseilles. He translated Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed from Arabic into Hebrew in collaboration with the author. He also translated other writings of Maimonides and wrote philosophical commen-taries on the Bible.
