Kohut, Rebekah
(1864-1951)
   American educator and community leader, wife of Alexander Kohut. She was born in Kaschau. From 1897 to 1901 she was president of the New York Council of Jewish Women, and in 1914 was appointed head of the employment bureau of the Young Women's Hebrew Association. In 1942 she became president of the World Congress of Jewish Women. Her writings include My Portion, More Yesterdays and George Alexander Kohut: His Memoir.
