Italian Hebrew grammarian and poet. From 1568 he lived in Padua, where he was secretary of the community, principal of a yeshivah, and av bet din. His writings include a Hebrew grammar, Arugat ha-Bosem, and numerous poems and piyyutim. His poetry reflects the attitudes of Jews to their Christian neighbours.
