(1868-1942)
Polish rabbi, author and Zionist. He was born in Bobruysk, Belorussia, and lived in Minsk, where he was an active Zionist. Later he became head of a secret nationalistic association formed by members of the yeshivah of Volozhin after it was closed. In 1894 he moved to Bialystok, where he became secretary to Samuel Mohilever. After Mohilever's death, he preached about Zionism throughout Russia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania. In 1900 he settled in Warsaw, where he was active in the Mizrahi organization. He wrote numerous works about Zionism.
