Hungarian Semitic scholar. He was professor and head of the rabbinic seminary in Budapest, where he taught biblical exegesis, midrash, homiletics and Hebrew poetry and grammar. He published on various aspects of Judaism; his works include studies of talmudic aggadah, Hebrew grammarians, medieval biblical exegesis, and Judeo-Persian literature.
