[DSM-IV] mental disorders characterized by sudden, temporary alterations in identity, memory, or consciousness, segregating normally integrated memories or parts of the personality from the dominant identity of the individual. This category includes dissociative identity disorder, dissociative fugue, dissociative amnesia, and depersonalization disorder.
