lym·pho·tox·in (LT) (limґfo-tok″sin) a lymphokine containing 171 amino acids, one of the tumor necrosis factors, produced by activated T lymphocytes. It inhibits the growth of tumors by causing lysis or stasis of sensitive cells, and also blocks transformation of cells. Called also tumor necrosis factor β.
