vesica biliaris
[TA] gallbladder: the pear-shaped reservoir for the bile, found within a fossa on the visceral surface of the liver. From its neck, the cystic duct projects to join the common bile duct. Called also cholecyst, cholecystis, and v. fellea [TA alternative].
