Gold
   Aprecious metal highly valued from antiquity. Egyptian Nbw. It was mainly used for jewelry, personal adornment, and royal funerary equipment. The trade of gold appears to have been a royal monopoly. The metal was found in the Eastern Desert in such locations as Wadi Hammamatand Nubiaso much so that Egypt was regarded as a prime source of the metal by foreign countries. According to Egyptian myth, the flesh of the gods was made of gold.
